Akiba Rubinstein Chess Festival
14–23 August 2026 · Polanica-Zdrój
Since 1963, Polanica has become Poland’s chess capital every August. Anyone can play – in over a dozen open groups by rating and age, including children and seniors. Between games: blitz tournaments, simultaneous exhibitions and living chess.

Around 300 re-enactors, historical stalls, a parade through town and an evening battle re-enactment at Kłodzko Fortress.

Akiba Rubinstein Chess Festival
Poland’s oldest chess tournament, held since 1963. Alongside the grandmaster event, amateurs, seniors and children play in over a dozen open groups; there are also simultaneous exhibitions and living chess.
